Coming Soon: Advanced / Pro Version
A more powerful version of EncryptDecrypt is in development, designed for users who need greater flexibility, control, and collaboration when securing files.
Public key encryption
The Pro version will support encryption using public/private key pairs.
- Encrypt files using a recipient’s public key
- Only the holder of the corresponding private key can decrypt
- Ideal for sending sensitive data securely without sharing passwords
Encrypt for multiple recipients
Encrypt a file once and allow multiple authorised people to open it.
- Add multiple public keys to a single encrypted file
- Each authorised recipient can decrypt using their own private key
- No need to manage or distribute shared passwords
Use your own keys
Bring your own key setup into the app.
- Import existing public keys
- Manage trusted recipients
- Build your own secure workflow
Hybrid security (key + password)
For additional protection, the Pro version is planned to support combining methods:
- Encrypt using public key(s) and a password
- Even though private keys are usually protected by a passphrase, this adds an additional password at the file level, creating a dual-layer security model
- Requires both the correct key and password to decrypt
- Adds an extra layer of security for high-value data
Why this matters
Public key encryption removes the need to share passwords, which are often the weakest point in secure file transfer. It allows you to:
- Send files securely over email or messaging platforms
- Control exactly who can decrypt your data
- Scale securely when working with multiple people
Who it’s for
- Businesses sharing sensitive documents
- Technical users managing their own key infrastructure
- Anyone who wants stronger, more flexible security
This functionality is currently in development and will be available in a future release.
